When I read this book, I was so amazed by author's imagination and how the whole story flowed so smoothly. The book contains lots and lots of cliff hangers. Violet,Klaus,and Sunny went to live in Dark Ave and were living with the Squalors until Count Olaf appeared in their lives once again. This apartment had sixty six floors and all the elevators were shut down. Count Olaf had not left the apartment but had left the sixty sixth room. Where was he?
SPOILER ALERT
The siblings figured out that the elevator was an ersatz elevator..... which means it was a fake. The siblings figured out that Olaf had removed the elevator and made a secret room where the Quagmire triplets were trapped. They had escaped Olaf's clutches but the Quagmires were taken away before the Baudelaires could rescue them. Want more details? Read the book!!!!

And Esme Squalor joins the fray! She is just over-the-top, rambunctious, and high maintenance. I love it!!! The woman knows what she wants, even if its to be a villain, and she goes for it. I love this book of ASOUE just because of her. That and the nostalgia the Baudelaires have for their parents in this one. Getting that chance to look back and feel that tragedy like a pin-prick to the heart again is so real.
Snicket is thickening the plot more and more and I just love it. The wordplay and the world-building that feels impossible but is nothing the kids can't conquer. It's all fantastic.
