2nd book in the good girls guide to murder series! A great page-turner with suspense and mystery. I'm constantly trying to figure out the case with Pip which is great fun. This one was quite sad in the end though :'(

Honestly, although I didn't like this book as much as the first one, I say it's most definitely a good sequel to the first book, but I still liked it. However, I feel like the build-up (not the ending itself, but the build-up) toward the end was a bit out of left field. I just wish there were clues to how things went toward the end and the plot twist.
I felt like the whole Brunswick killer thing came out of nowhere. If Pip had referred to it in passing or looked at it before when examining cases of missing people earlier in the book then yeah it would've made a bit of sense, but nope. I liked how the author handled it, but I just wished she would've introduced it better. However, it still doesn't negate the impact of Stanley's death. My gosh! Poor Pip! If I didn't think she was traumatized in book 1, well, she is most definitely traumatized after this. She literally watched a man get shot six times right in front of her eyes with his blood all over her and watched him die. All at the ripe age of 18. Like what the heck?! I really hope she's seeing a therapist in book 3 (i'm typing this review a few days after I finished book 3 and sadly even therapy couldn't help my girl, Pip😭😖).

Omg I love Jackson's writing, I couldn't put this book down either. The continuation from A Good Girls Guide To Murder is subtle, not a cliché series, but a series that allows further development of the characters and another brilliant mystery. Again the plot twists were unexpected, and Jackson cleverly included new and old characters. I really enjoyed how aspects of the first book were carried through into this one, without feeling forced or just there for continuation. I do, however, think the relationship between Ravi and Pip could have been expanded more, but also do understand why he wasn't a major character.

mysterious and interesting. after AGGTM, this book takes some of the consequences of the last and manages to be a consistent and coherent follow-up.

pip isn’t my favorite character
- she can be a little insensitive to some of her co-characters (especially Nat!) and has inexplicably become an expert at police investigative procedures without development of those skills. i would have loved a chapter or two of her enjoying casual researching on investigations, just so her almost over-professional knowledge is explained better. that also would have made a fantastic contrast with the end, where she experiences this from a different side, as a direct witness. either way, pip’s mental health and the way it is discussed were very strong points in this book.

i enjoyed how the different characters were introduced and how a new mystery was developed without entirely neglecting the first. that was impressive and really immersive.
