I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS BOOK. I would definitely recommend this. Pip deserves the world. Max Hasting pissed me off. Ravi is just ❤️. Cara slayed. Jamie was kinda meh. I felt that he was a bit naive and he really really needs to get his life straightened out. I disliked him a lot and I feel so bad for his parents. Nat was portrayed wonderfully

Actually batter than the first!! I did NOT expect the ending. But I think that was for the best. I HIGHLY recommend, especially if you have read the first one. “A good girls guide to murder”

I will admit that, at the start, I wasn’t as hooked in this book as I was in the first. However, Holly Jackson’s characters are so deep and developed they practically jump off the page and draw you in. Pip’s development definitely kept me invested and as the mystery starts to unravel, I couldn’t put it down.

Holly Jackson did SO WELL with this sequel. I feel like the first book would've been so hard to follow up with, given the fast pace and conclusive ending. I read the first book in January of 2022 (in one day, might I add..) and thought it was so good. Honestly, I felt myself procrastinating finishing the series because I felt like it ended so well (that book could be read as a standalone tbh but now that I've read this PLS FINISH THE SERIES PEOPLE). Jackson started the new storylines so flawlessly intertwined with those of the first book and they ended up working so well together. We see a direct continuation of the first story with real reactions, emotions, development and relationships related to those events. PIp's character arc has been done so well and I am so intrigued to see what she continues to do and how she reacts to the cases she deals with. Is Pip gonna be in her Reputation Era? I think so.

Pip and Ravi are seriously perfect. Jackson was giving us crumbs for most of the book but I ate it all up. From their hugs to their little "I love you" signs, each interaction was so lovely and I want so much more for them because they are actually perfect. I also loved how Jackson doesn't shy away from technology - she includes Twitter and Instagram and Tinder and even the world of true crime podcasts and their popularity - and it's not cringy at all so good for her. It just blended into the world and plot really well.

The mystery was sooo ✨ mysterious ✨ and I actually got pretty creeped out when reading part of it - like I checked my locks lol. It still felt grounded and based on the resolution, it connects with the first book and the town of Fairview very well based on the world building. The main characters revolved around the mystery (I won't say their name so it's not spoiled) were so well developed as far as their actions and reactions and man...that ending. My only irk was that because I read the first book so long ago, I felt myself forgetting characters and more minor plot lines from the first book about how the case was solved. So, I do wish I read them closer together so I remembered everything and could catch all of the call backs and minor character inclusions.

those last few chapters? i was there with her. that was fucking scary. incredible. never wanna go through something like that again.
happy i was able to guess who they are 191 pages in. never fully trust people who are kind for no reason. they also just groomed her to do bad things and just fully let her anger out. did pip go to therapy after the last book? she def should go now.
i hope max dies next. or go to jail forever, then immediately die bcs they beat him to death.
wish i could tag the cw for betrayal bcs fuck ant & lauren.

the beginning of the book was not as catchy as agggtm. found it kinda hard to pick up, but i'm glad i pushed through, because once i hit the 20%-something mark i really couldn't stop. especially the last 40% of the book. holy shit. she's done it again. completely blew me away by the last few chapters.
