Juniper Lemon’s Happiness Index Review Blogpost Here

I just finished it and i have no idea how to review it. Actually i always have no idea because i suck at reviews but here goes. But here goes...
I loved this book. As far as Ya contemporaries go this one was perfect. It was fluffy but at the same time heavy and deep. A lot of stuff is going on in the book dealing with grief, loss and the art of just living afterwards. Added to it all was the mystery of you. This book is funny , smart, moving while dealing with issue of loss, love, friendship and family ties.
First of I loooove our mc's name Juniper Lemon its such a fun name. She was a nice narrator to follow. She is erratic funny, stubborn and saddening at times. Her quest for you drives into you and you are as frantic and obsessed with finding answers as she is. She is lost after her sister and its riveting to see her find her place in the world after the gaping hole her sister left. Her character development is capturing.
The other side characters are interesting. Brand despite being the usual trope-y bad boy still has a certain depth to him. He has a huge softer side ahrem as usual despite his oh fear me attitude.
I also loved the artist concept woven into the story. The idea of juniper class project or simply the index card was cute, fun and interesting.
This story despite being predictable or having similar ya trope manages to hook you to the fullest you keep reading more and more because you just cant wait for answers.
In the end just buy the book. If you are a fan of Ya contemporaries this one will make your day believe me.

Juniper is trying to come to terms with the fact her elder sister died, and they never really got to sort out their arguments beforehand. Since Cammie's death Juniper has rated every day, examining what events have happened and how they've impacted on her happiness. Only one day she loses the index card on which she writes her thoughts.
Desperate to avoid anyone learning of her secret, Juniper searches through rubbish to try and find the missing card. What she ends up with are secrets and notes from other students that suggest everyone has things they want to avoid facing.
As much about friendships and finding yourself as dealing with loss, this is a sweet story. I'm not sure it's one I'll remember in years to come, but it was thoughtful. My key frustration was that 'You' never became more than a device to force the next phase of Juniper's recovery.
Thanks to NetGalley for the advance copy.

I really did enjoy this book. The story behind it is sad but other than that, it makes for a really great read. The book follows the story of Juniper and her way of dealing with her sister, Camilla's death.

The only downside to this book was the fact that I struggled to keep interested at times.

I'd definitely recommend this book!

Ahhhh. My love/obsession wavered a smidge at the end (especially with how some things "wrapped up") but I still loooooooved this. I read it in one day because I just couldn't stop. There's no better feeling than when a book you super hyped up for yourself ends up meeting (probably exceeding tbh) your expectations. I loved the premise and cover the moment I saw them - anything with lists or letters or secret identities will make it onto my TBR. I loved how Juniper pulled together her own little friend group, tried to figure out her sister's mysteries, and started to find herself again. All of the intricacies in the plot points and characters were perfect.

Juniper thinks that things couldn't get any worse. Her sister has been tragically ripped from her life. Her mother has closed herself off from the world around her. Her father is always busy with work. Even her best friend can't be bothered to be around her anymore. Then she loses an important index card. One event leads to another and Juniper finds herself in situations and places she wouldn't have normally done or been in before. She's left to wonder if she can find the card and if she can fully exist in a life without her sister.

This book hit me in the feels so hard. I read it all in one sitting basically. I didn't want to put it down at all. I was completely hooked on every page. And the characters were so beautifully amazing as well. I just wanted to take them all and squeeze hug them tight. I even started doing a similar index thing after I stopped reading this book. It just seemed like an amazing idea!

The only thing I didn't like about this book it was the way it ended. I don't really want to give too much away. I know it's more of a draw your own conclusions type of thing, but I wanted it spelled out for me in permanent marker. Or computer ink in this case. It was still a very beautiful ending and I enjoyed it very much. I know that I'm just being picky and I shouldn't be.

I do fully recommend this book. I especially recommend this book to anybody who has ever lost somebody they were close to. Or anybody who knows somebody who has lost somebody they were close to. It's very emotionally raw and open. But that's how it's supposed to be. As a society, we are supposed to just pick up the pieces after we lose a loved one and move on after a few days. But some wounds just don't ever fully heal. Great book. Worth the read!

A fun read with plenty of darkness for internal thoughts. It was a quick read, due to it being a teen novel, but nothing too fantasy-ish or over the top heartbreak going on. So a manageable teen book. I would recommend it for a summer read, especially for one with a sibling.

I thought that the writing could have been way better, and some of the people in the book. For example at the end Brand told Angela and Kody that Juniper had "invaded their privacy" and for about 20 pages all of the people were super mad at her. But then, when Juniper apologized as if they had not been fighting over it for numerous chapters.

Me sorprendió mucho. Creo que me sorprendió tanto porque tenía CERO expectativas. No pensé que me iba a gustar este libro. No es una lectura que hubiese agarrado por mi cuenta; tuve que leerlo para un club de lectura. Me gustó mucho. Es una historia poco convencional que me atrapó un montón!! Al principio se me hizo un poco después no podes soltarlo hasta terminarlo. No pensaba que iba a tener romance pero sii
