I prefer The Hobbit to The Lord of the Rings. Tolkien was less verbose in that way I find particularly annoying. It also seems to be more cohesive and focused.

Have read before but had to listen to the Andy Serkis narrated version and damn has this surpassed any expectations I had. No one can do better than this man narrating these stories. Hearing his Gollum voice again made me a bit weepy ngl.

Cant wait to dive into LOTR once again accompanied by his wonderful narration ❤️really hope they get him aboard to do the Silmarillion and all of Tolkiens other varied works.

My father read my sisters and me The Hobbit when I was a kid, it is the first book I remember and has remained one of my favourite books since. I have revised it a few times, but this was the first time I read it as an adult. Nostalgia and childhood were on every page, the love that I have always felt for this book and the story came rushing back and I didn't want it to end.

Bilbo, Gandalf and all the dwarves, a chaotic and fun tale to rob a dragon - what more could anyone want? I have a soft spot for The Hobbit that even the Lord of the Rings can't defeat, it will always be one of my favourite books.

I wonder when was the last time I read The Hobbit. In high school maybe. Took my time to finish the audiobook, but finally did. The story is of course as good as I remembered it to be and Rob Inglis did a wonderful job narrating this heroic adventure. I'm not really able to say anything too meaningful about The Hobbit. It's one of the first high fantasy books I ever read (I actually read it between The Two Towers and The Return of the King) and I still hold it in high regard. Would recommend it for readers looking for a classic fantasy tale.
