Tessa Thompson tells a compelling story of loss and grief, and how she dealt with understanding God's love and plan for her through these events. Although I can't fathom what it's like being deaf, Tessa talks about many other trials and burdens that everyday people face. She writes with understanding and compassion, relating to even the smallest struggles. This book was a resource to me, helping me understand that the Christian life is not called to be easy, but suffering can actually draw us closer to God. I know that I will return to this book again and again when I feel the waves of resentment and overwhelm crowd my life: and I will refer to the multitude of Scripture verses that Tessa cites for her chapters and themes. 10/10.
