Orc-ward Encounters by Sam Hall

Sam Hall is one of those authors I want to like, but their books just seem to fall flat for me.
I can appreciate a plus sized FMC. I am a plus sized woman myself. I can't stand when the author just repeatedly hammers home how terrible it has been for that woman because she's plus sized. It comes off as pandering and disingenuous, as well as seeming like she should be grateful these guys like her anyway. Also the orc semen tastes like pumpkin spice. No thank you.

Amazing Storytelling

This book has fantastic storytelling and keeps your interest from beginning to end. It’s one of those books that you love so much that you hate it when you reach the end. Hopefully Sam will expand on this world because it will be fun to see if any side characters get their own series.

Sweet & Sexy

I loved these three orcs and the adoration they had for their Mate. This was a feel good, happy read! I look forward to more from this author!

The writing was painful. I don't think this was for me.

This stand alone orc reverse harem is super hot! Imagine finding 3 hot, amazing guys who just want you to be happy, who's only task in life is to ensure your happiness? Now imagine that you've accidentally left the human world and stumbled on a portal to another world and the three guys? They're Orcs, not human. This book is super fun and although it's not short, it's the perfect length to get the whole story across. I loved it, so much fun!

Cute RH but had some inconsistencies

This book focused on poor body image and social anxiety. Technically this counts as a “mars needs women” situation and we all know that aliens love them curvy girls. I enjoyed the mutual affection they had for each other and the slight integration of cultures. Honestly, Susie was the most important part of this book, even though she wasn’t the FMC. I’m afraid to say why lest I spoil the story, but she provided a good reference for relationship troubles. The book was a fast burn but at least balanced it with mutual sacrifice. The inconsistency that bothered me involved knowledge of certain intimate acts.

Spice: 4.5/5

Triggers: fat phobia toward FMC, violence

Didn’t grab me. Maybe I didn’t stick to it long enough, and usually with short books like this I just power through, but I just wasn’t feeling it. Nothing particularly wrong

I wanted a different ending, right up until the very ending. Thank you, Sam for not messing it up. LOL.

This book was spicy sweet. If you want the LOTR orcs, they are NOT to be found here. These guys are the falling over themselves to be nice orcs. Cinnamon roll orcs...with axes. This book brought the spice, and the body positivity and probably the best explanation of how humans treat the not 'accepted'. I identified with so much in this book...from being the fat friend, to just wanting to stay home. It was well done, and the orcs were so sweet, and rightfully angry and then sweet again...and then horny.
