First, before I get into my rant, I did enjoy some of the humorous dialogue in this book.

The reason why my rating is so low is because of the basic premise of the book. The idea is that Helen of Troy started the Trojan War not because of her beauty but just because she was descended from some type of war-goddess. Just by existing, she created terrible war. Then, Helen's female descendants also all made terrible things happen just by existing. World War I and World War II were both caused because a woman was living her life normally. The Cuban Missile Crisis didn't become a full war because a girl was murdered when she was fifteen. So the moral here is that you should murder innocent women because they are inherently evil and the root of all wars???

Another thing that bothered me was that there were THREE typos. In one instance, they spelled "hear" as "here" (pg. 14). This is a graphic novel by a major publishing house and written by a famous YA author, how are there typos? This strikes me as lazy and incompetent, and really brought down my appreciation of the entire product.

I received an e-ARC from Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review. Review can also be found on *Milky Way of Books*

The adaptation of Leigh's book gave me an even more amazing Wonder Woman vibe. The story is fairly done and the art is quite well. Diana has always been an amazing character and seeing her in her teens as a warrior was also very exciting. If you have read the book you'll fairly enjoy the graphic novel adaptation too.

I read this book for my "Graphic Novel with a Superhero" week in class. I will readily admit that superheroes are not my thing.....BUT Wonder Woman is a badass. And I love Leigh Bardugo. So I was intrigued to see how a graphic novel adaptation of Warbringer would translate.

I was impressed with the story. No character was as it seemed. Honestly, Warbringer would have made a far more interesting movie than WW1984 in my opinion. The topic of what is truly good and what is truly evil is the age old question and one that this book doesn't answer. Rather, it encourages the reader to ask more questions.

The art itself is well done. The sequences flow seamlessly and the color palate speaks to an other worldly element. I rather appreciated that colors tended to be more muted as opposed to 4K in your face color.

So why a three? Well, I just don't like superhero stories. They are on my take it or leave it scale. However, I recognize there are MANY more out there. At least I found one with my favorite superhero! (And face it, it's really Gal Gadot who I like)

Having read the novel by Leigh Bardugo before picking this graphic novel up, I was very excited to check out the illustrations and adaptations of the novel in this and I was not dissapointed.

Okay, what I loved about this was literally the graphics/illustrations. The colors and the artist's use of color help portray and bring Diana/Wonder Woman to life. If you have read the novelization you already know how well Leigh brings Diana to life with words, so to have pictures added to those words was incredible!

Overall, this was a 4 star rating for me though. The reason it was 4 instead of 5 was honestly only because it was the graphic novel and I had read the novelization before I had read the graphic novel. Though I love the illustrations and the text together, I honestly love the story more in the novel form. I am sure anyone who reads this first might think the opposite of me. That is not to say the story telling and illustrations are bad, just that I enjoy the novel more.

This made me realize how much I want to reread the book. It translated well enough, but I felt like some things were missing. Also, wasn't a big fan of the art style, would have liked more colour.

Dang, what a ride! This was a pretty unique story for Wonder Woman. I loved how it explored Diana's insecurities, specifically not feeling she's earned her place with the Amazons. I also loved the intro of Alia and her heritage. The way this story didn't just acknowledge Greek or Roman myths but others as well was pretty cool. Beautiful images, gripping story. Oh and the traditional Bardugo twist with character setups - well done as always, but I also hate it every time lol.
