I'm a quarter of the way through the book and the FMC and MMC have only interacted one. All dense medieval military exposition. Nah.

I have a hard time labeling this one a romance considering there was almost none to be found until the epilogue. Yes, THE EPILOGUE.

Striking the right balance between plot and smut in romance novels is critical: in my opinion too much of one is never a good thing. In this case there was an overabundance of plot, leaving the romance scenes as an anemic afterthought.
