Nothing groundbreaking or extremely compelling. Just mildly entertaining.
The most interesting theme of this book to me was Sarah's relationship with her father and the mystery surrounding her mother's death. However, this subject was very underdeveloped and no great insight was reached (Sarah still didn't know much about her own mother). Additionally, her father's girlfriend Deborah also disappears from the book rather oddly.

I don’t use this word lightly because I think for the most part it’s used by some delicate flowers who don’t know what it means but feel a bit upset by something someone has said to them and want them to feel bad. This book triggered me. It was not the fault of the book at all which is why I’ve given it such a high score; it was well written and I could so easily see my childhood in the things that happened. I am going to forget I read this and move on.

We first meet Sarah on her way - reluctantly - to a high-school reunion. Then we’re plunged back to her final year of school and come to understand a little of how she has come to be in this situation.
Sarah, Kate and Tina are inseparable as they start their fifth year. However, relationships shift and sometimes a shared history isn’t enough to get through the events that take place. It’s certainly the case with these three.
I liked the way we follow Sarah through events, seen from her teenage viewpoint, but it did mean I spent a lot of time second-guessing just what might actually be happening.
The attention to detail was spot-on. I found the secondary characters intriguing, and it was definitely a story that encouraged you to look beyond the events on the page.

You could tell early on where this book was heading, but still a good page-turner.

A much bigger story than first appears. Encapsulates the relationships Sarah Robbins forms with her friends, family, boyfriends, teachers and others. It details funny moments with a light touch and has it's darker side too. We meet Sarah as she is about to attend a school reunion when she is 39. We jump back to 1985 when she is 15, only to jump forward again towards the end bringing the story to conclusion. Read this in one sitting. A thoroughly good read recommended.

A slow burning, insidious little book... sadly the ending fell short for me.
