If you’re into every damn cliché the friends-to-lovers trope has to offer, then Him might just be your guilty pleasure goldmine.

Jamie and Wes? Hot as sin together. Like, “someone-hand-me-a-fan-before-I-self-combust” levels of chemistry. That first anal scene? A full-on experience. Equal parts tender, awkward, and spicy… exactly what you’d expect from a pair of horny, hockey-playing besties navigating new territory. ✨🫶🏻

But let’s not pretend this book reinvented the wheel. It’s fun, a bit sweet, and easy to devour, but not exactly life-altering stuff. And the constant censorship of swear words? DUDE! That drove me up the walls. It turned into a personal challenge not to scream into the void every time a “friggin’” popped up.

Still, if you’re in the mood for something light, sexy, and packed with bro-turned-lover tension, this one’s a fast and fiery ride.

I liked the way the characters felt like real people and they each had their own shit going on that they had to work through other than the romance plot. I didn't love that they kept referring to each other as "my best friend" when they hadn't spoken in years and had barely reconnected; it was done a LOT and it was always unnecessary. Overall it was a small thing but it kept taking me out of the story because of how out of place it was. As far as complaints go though, it is a minor one overall.
