Take a gander at this series and this world. It's cool and wildly interesting. Read this in high school and it only got better when I read it again recently.

My heart swelled oh probably three sizes reading this book. Sam's character development and Lirael coming into her own, everything to do with Disreputable Dog and Mogget. Perfect books don't exist but this one was very very good. Can't wait to see what new once-in-a-millennium threat faces our stalwart characters in Clariel!
