One of the more lively classics I've read. The translation by Richard Pevear was excellent and very accessible, minus an overreliance on the word "physiognomy." It's easy to see why this fun book remains popular today.

I went into this thinking the three musketeers were gonna be honorable gentlemen doing good but it turns out they're just men who do whatever the heck they want and call it honor. The story was fun and well-written but I felt sooooo disappointed - they kept taking advantage of people and challenging random folks to duels over the stupidest things. I prefer the Barbie version

“All for one and one for all, united we stand divided we fall."
The Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas is a witty, charming and tale about an unlikely yet lovable hero- D'Artagnan. D'Artagnan is the definition of the swash-buckler archetype, despite his misdoings and rogue behaviour we cannot help but adore this character because it is all with admirable intentions.
However, I felt this book had underdeveloped characters and it was too long-winded for my liking, usually that is not an issue but I struggled to find it as charming.
