Quick Read

Good story. Quick read. Enjoyed the depth of the story and the character formation. Really liked it. Looking forward to the rest.

I loved the Plot, the world building and the characters, a really interesting and original take on the supernatural world, this does come across a little reverse harem even though it states it isnt, unfortunately for me reverse harem is a deal breaker cant stand it, but take that out and have a real couple with (preferably Ezra) this would have benn a 5 star read! and the cover amazing!

Tori is hardheaded and abrasive, and looking for a new job. She’s sees an ad for a bartender at the Crow and Hammer, and bluffs her way into a bartending position. She thinks the clientele is a little odd, but she holds her own. She later learns that it is a guild for mythics - which are mages, witches, psychics, hags, etc.

Humans are not to know about mythics, but Tori is the best bartender they have ever had, she holds her own and takes crap from no one. So they decide to keep her around.

This is a fun urban fantasy. And thankfully not a reverse harem. Sorry if that’s your thing, but it’s not mine. There’s no romance in this one, but there’s attraction for sure. I’ve already read the three books that are out and they are funny and don’t repeat the same plot.

If you’re looking for a funny urban fantasy, like [b:Slouch Witch|34670747|Slouch Witch (The Lazy Girl's Guide to Magic, #1)|Helen Harper|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1490304725s/34670747.jpg|55840251] give this series a shot. Sorry for the obvious pun

a fun read!

I really enjoyed this book and will continue with the series. I loved the boys and Tori’s character too. I’m definitely interested in finding out more about Ezra. What a neat way to incorporate magic and supernatural elements into this story and I really like the fact that Tori is just plain human but pulls her own weight!

I have never read a book so efficient and entertaining in its exposition. Absolutely fantastically paced and edited, a real marvel of craft. Very strong female gaze, your milage may vary.

This book was pretty good. I REALLY liked the MC and supporting characters. Unfortunately, there just wasn’t near enough romance-personal preference-so it can’t be a 5 star read for me.

4.5 stars. Wow LOVED this book. I was immediately captured by Tori’s personality and the world. I couldn’t wait to see what would happen next between her and the “three mages”. ;) I’m looking forward to continuing the series!

Sᴇʀɪᴇs Rᴇᴠɪᴇᴡ ᴀɴᴅ Oᴠᴇʀᴠɪᴇᴡ

⎯» Rating: 4.25 Stars

⎯» Genre(s): Urban Fantasy, Paranormal Romance

⎯» POV:

Book(s) 1-6, 8: First Person—Single (Heroine)
Book(s) 7: First Person—Dual (Heroine/Hero)

Whilst Annette Marie’s work is of such a high quality that I can only (jokingly) attribute it to magic—I mean, how else does she create such complex worlds, well-developed characters, and compelling storylines?
—it’s obvious that in actuality, she is a dedicated author who puts her blood, sweat, and tears into her stories. This series is an attestment to that.
