I just didn't connect with this like some of the other books in the series. I didn't care for the 30 year time jump, and didn't love the storyline itself. I'm hoping the next couple of books are better so that the series ends on a high note for me.

There's 9 books in this series and you could think of it like three connected trilogies. If you do that then this book kicks off the third and final trilogy. It's a great way to finish off the series with humanity coming back through the gates as the new threat and the inner planets and the belt as the new "inner" system and the ring gates the outer system. Well done and eager to read the least two books.
