Stars awarded for the sheer addiction I felt while listening to this - I had to know what was going to happen, what the next twist would be. The ending made it a 4 star read instead of 5 stars for me. With the constant twists and turns throughout, it was a bit of a let down. Still a highly engrossing read though.

A decent psycho-thriller that had me uncertain of its conclusion for pretty much the whole story - something the more recent popular thrillers could not do. It is underlyingly scary - not really except you still believe it will be. And the creepy seeps in.
Jane and Emma, now and then, alternate narration telling nearly identical tales. And then they diverge and you wonder if Emma's story will be Jane's. The story is rather gothic, too, because the house One Fullgate Street (i did audio so sorry if the street name is misspelled) is a character in the story also. The architect makes my boyfriend look like a slob and a packrat, which is my own private joke but makes me smile. Too bad woman I. cabins are getting all the attention, because the women in this novel actually deserve it.
