you already know i'm a slut for carmilla retellings. and i really liked this one! admittedly it's been a hot second since I read the original and at the beginning of this i was nervous bc it seemed too similar to the original, but it forked away with some real interesting changes! i'm all for taking the tragedy and warning out of classic lesbian stories. also all for lesbians being evil :))

I loved this book! The prose is beautiful, the romance is sweet and sexy, the vampire elements are present and spooky, and it definitely reminded me of the first time I read Carmilla.
