Amazing read, Celeste Ng's writing is extraordinary and so descriptive. I related to this on a multitude of levels, and found a lot of myself in Nath, Lydia, and Hannah. I love the dynamic Ng uses in her stories, the dichotomy between mother and child, father and son, etc. is something I don't see flushed out often. It seems like it would be boring at face value, yet my attention was grasped for 100+ pages. love this book, and this story! Very powerful message about living life on your own terms, but also the consequences of making that choice, and the complications of race, marriage, and family.

Generational trauma galore. Her writing is so so brilliant. I was very moved by this book.
