This is an odd book.  It was entertaining but had a weird sense about it.  Nicolas has narcolepsy which is an interesting condition and he is somewhat of a detective.

Really enjoyed learning the foundations of Nicholas Benedict. Great preface for the Mysterious Benedict Society series.

This book is pretty adorable. I really love the Benedict books, and I didn't love this one as much as the Society trilogy, but it is still great. One aspect I did really appreciate was the bullying side - and how Nicholas gets back at his bullies. I feel like that is great for kids. And as with his other books, Trenton Lee Stewart just doesn't talk down to kids. It's pretty awesome.

I love this series. It's smart, it's heartfelt, it's positive. Del Roy is an amazing narrator and brings the characters to life. The tone is never condescending to the reader, and they don't avoid hard topics. But the focus is on friendships, mysteries, and celebrating learning for its own sake.

Such a sweet book! I love the character of Nicholas and his two friends John and Violet are amazing. The whole story is very interesting and the plot is intriguing. The end is very satisfying and tied up the story really well.

This is the most compelling I've read of the series -- I think the pared down plot line works better for Stewart.

I have found myself listening to The Extraordinary Education of Nicholas Benedict more than the rest of the series as I think this book is very good as a standalone novel. I had a good time with this and we love neurodivergent representation :)
