Thoughts in no particular order:
- This reads like Rey-lo fan fic.
- The world building was great and I loved the premise.
- The spice scenes were cringe, if I never have to see the word ‘tongue’ used as a verb again, I’d be great.
- Will I be reading the second one, 1000% absolutely.

So i will start off with things that rubbed me the wrong way in this book
- Nick sent Reggie two nudes from his boyfriend, likely without the boyfriend's consent, or Reggie's who didn't want to see unsolicited d**k and a** pics
- Ben is 500-something and Reggie is early to mid 20s
- Ben looked at her phone and saw the nude and got jealous and cursed her "boyfriend"
- Ben also stole her hair to magic with it... without consent (to scry on her)
- Reggie scryed on him and spied on him jerking off, at least she confessed she did the next day
-
Spoiler Dude gets upset that she didn't ask follow up questions after he admitted to murdering his parents, THEN SHE ASKS AND HE'S LIKE "I don't want to talk about it" motherfucker

- They're dirty with stagnant well water and they're doing stuff... ever heard of UTIs?
- "I can't decide if I want to kill you for wearing something that provocative or find a dark corner and strip it off you"
- "I'm not sure if I should kill you for being so fucking sexy in that dress and standing up for me, or if I should eat you alive"
- He throws his phone on the wall because he's upset
- "Give me that big, thick cock Ben"

So now, what did I like?
The story is interesting, I had never read a book about roman magic so that was very interesting, the characters were decently interesting, tho at times I feel they were inconsistent.
Ben and Reggie (and Dru) end up communicating i guess...
I was hoping this book would give me more Sabrina the teenage witch vibes and it didn't quite hit the spot
The s*x scenes were fine. At least they made a point of using a condom!

Cute
No cringe
Spice was well done
Slow burn
Likable albeit very naive heroine
Likable hero
Not really enemies but it was fine
Some repetition issues

Overall. Really fun and looking forward to the next one.
