I enjoyed this book. I liked the overall futuristic aspects of the world. I liked that our main character was a smart, kind of kick ass girl. What I didn't like was how many questions I had at the end. We read this for a book club and when we went over it as a group, we started to dissect the book and it got more and more confusing and gave us more questions. I am hoping that is just because there will be more books and those are where our questions will be answered. I look forward to the next book in the series.

Insgesamt mochte ich das Buch sehr gerne, die Idee war gut und auch Sachen über's Programmieren oder die Welt selbst wurden gut erklärt. Die Figuren waren mir sehr sympatisch, Cat war richtig toll und man konnte ihren Umgang mit allem sehr gut nachvollziehen.
Allerdings war ich ziemlich schnell von der Liebesgeschichte genervt, zwar hatte ich natürlich nach dem Titel schon damit gerechnet, aber trotzdem hat es für mich nicht in die Geschichte gepasst. Ich wusste nicht so ganz, wozu die überhaupt da war, die Geschichte hätte sehr gut ohne auskommen können und ich hätte mir einiges an Nerven erspart.
Das Ende war überraschend, mit dem Twist hatte ich wirklich nicht gerechnet, aber ich bin jetzt unsicher ob ich noch den zweiten Band lesen will oder es als Einzelband mit offenem Ende lassen will.
Trotzdem kann ich es auf jeden Fall empfehlen.

This one just wasn't my cup of tea. It had such interesting and unique world building, and even a decent plot, but unfortunately the characters were just so bland to me. Maybe I've read too many YA dystopias that all the typical YA tropes stuck out like a sore thumb, which ruined the immersion for me. Also, the FMC, Cat, made various cringey choices (I was internally screaming at her when she didn't immediately run away when Dax SHOT HER), which is typical for many YA books but also why I don't read this genre that much anymore. In addition, the technology was really really cool but the author wasn't subtle about using it purely as a plot device. (One example being at the end of the book when Cat's panel re-grew and as her comm links were showing up, she just so happened to see messages from Agnes to not trust Lachlan, and to "follow the pigeons" - So convenient that Agnes knew Lachlan was alive and happened to be tracking him and somehow happened to drop a hint about the Lachlan/non-Lachlan puppet Cat just murdered). The cliche ending was the straw that broke the camel's back for me and when I decided that I will not be continuing on with this trilogy.

This book was so interesting. So many ideas that I would have never considered as a basis for a story. I love how the plot evolved. It was so well thought out and I’m excited to be surprised some more in the next book.

I really likes this book a lot. The amount of hacking and the sheer amount of betrayal that happened in this book was a lot. I really liked the concept of this book though and when Cole is protective his eyes are blue. Those who have read the book know what I mean.

4.5 Stars. This book was SO freaking good: suspenseful, plenty of action and twists, a little romance, so many emotions. Can’t wait for the next one!!
