Occasionally brilliant, frequently dull. When he's telling an actual story, it's quite good. But then he goes off on these rambling passages that don't go anywhere. These are well written, but kinda pointless.

Recommended, if only for some excellent prose, featuring terms like my new favorite word, "frowsy" and some truly inventive uses of the C word.

I absolutely hated this and wish I had given up on it. At the end, he claims there was a story, but there was none that I could discern. It was racist, misogynistic, antisemitic, just the whole gambit, all in stream of consciousness style with few paragraph breaks. The glimpses of enjoyable writing are barely worth mentioning.

Up and downs, misery and tragedy, meaning and emptiness, countless words chasing words.
Hate it or love it, no in betweens.
Some paragraphs are messy and weak, some others clear and bright as the sun.
Personally i find the last chapter is worth the whole book.
