As a non sportsball girlie, this is a super solid coming of age story with enjoyable relationships. Each chapter is like a little vignette taking us through the basketball season and I thought that was a really interesting way to write it.
My own complaint is the only female character getting pigeon-holed into a misogynistic storyline BUT I think that has an easy solution. That section was a bit underwritten and took away some of the focus from the characterization of two character but that section of the story was so short anyway with a bit more writing focus and introspection I think it would be better. I can definitely see the author improving upon that in the future.

All in all I really liked this book as a Haikyuu anime lover.
