If you want a book that will rekindle your joy in salvation and help you think about it on a deeper level than you'd get in today's watered down western churches, this is the one! So worth the read.

What The Gospel Truly Is.
The gospel is not a sales pitch. This book is so amazing and I have to be honest, out of the many Orthodox books I own, for inquiring converts I would recommend this one because it supports Christianity by defining what the gospel actually is and why it’s important. Salvation is the aim, but not objective of Christianity. This book is very important and eye opening.

Excellent, brief explanation of what a "gospel" is, and what THE gospel really is saying. Lots of information packed in here, although I was ultimately disappointed in the crucial section, "Responding to the Gospel". A person like myself, raised in the Orthodox Church, baptized in infancy, instructed in both Greek school and Sunday school, still needs to be taught how to repent when the age of consent is reached. I didn't know how to stop sinning. I didn't know how to pray from my heart for help from the Lord. Saying "repent" isnt sufficient. Thats like saying "Swim", and dropping a child into the ocean. Only when I learned ( from a non-Orthodox Christian) to confess from my heart directly to Jesus and pray for, and accept, His control of my life did I escape the Romans 7 conundrum: "For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice." When I prayed as an individual for help from the Lord He delivered me.
