I was super excited to read these extra adventures. Most of them take place in between the events of the first 4 books of the series, and some offer some fun extra information about Alex's life outside of the main stories, and even some interesting details about the side characters he interacts with throughout the series.

Despite all of that, I was a bit disappointed with this collection as a whole. Pretty much every short story had a lengthy summary of the main plot point of the book or books prior, which really took me out of the story. This may have been because I was rereading the series while reading these stories, so I read them in the order they fell in between the main series books and had all of that summary fresh in my head, so it felt repetitious to have it provided again, but I feel like with such a short format it's not a great use of space to have so much summary either way. I enjoyed reading this collection once but, unlike the main series, it's probably not one i'll reread.

Will I always marvel at Anthony Horowitz and the way he sets up his Alex Rider stories? Seems like the answer is yes.

Even though I've considerably grown up since I first started the series, the Alex Rider books still pull me in with their great pacing and action sequences aas well as the plotlines and twists. I have to admit that I've been catching onto more and more plot twists but nevertheless, the books still fascinate me and I honestly can't think of a day where I wouldn't want to read an Alex Rider book ❤️

If you thought one Alex Rider story wasn’t enough, how about seven?! In an action-packed series of mini-adventures, readers get to enjoy more of the teen spy as he escapes death, bringing down bad buys with his wit and clever strategies. Just when you thought this series couldn’t get better, Anthony Horowitz creates an incredible collection of short stories to wet our palettes until the next epic adventure is released!
