Lovely artwork.
Story is mildly trope-driven.
Excellent introduction to Doctor Strange, good for readers looking for an entry point.

Very rare for me to enjoy modern superhero comics, but Aaron's work is more urban fantasy than fistfights, and Bachalo's work is extraordinary, with psychedelic panel designs and great use of color.

This was my first Doctor Strange comic. I was super excited, especially since he's in my cosplay list this year but found myself a little disappointed. I can't pinpoint why. It was a good story and the art is gorgeous and Strange is charming and a dork, but it was kind of missing something for me. Don't get me wrong. I didn't dislike it at all but after waiting for months for it I found I didn't want to own it so it made me sad.

All of that said, it a fun, weird story with good characters and a great emerging villain.
