I struggled to read this book the first time I tried reading it, and then, when I started to reread it, about 340/350 pages in, Diana's gender as a transgender woman is used against her. It's not because she's trans, but because she had gotten sex reassignment surgery from mundane doctors. I'm a little squicked by the fact that they're trying to use Diana's gender as a blackmailing point so I didn't want to finish the book. **edit** I read some spoilers on the wiki about the outcome of this, but I still don't feel right about it. **/edit** On top of that, I am not at all compelled by Emma and Julian's love story and I don't care for the choices that Julian makes at the beginning that essentially affect the rest of the book. I'm disappointed that I don't get to find out what happens to Mark, Kieran, and Cristina and Ty and Kit, but unfortunately, I don't think even they're enough to push me the through this tome. **edit** upon doing more research of what happens in the rest of this book, I still don't think it's worth it for me to put effort into reading this. I plan on reading the other books she puts out though.
