absolutely amazing book. As a romance and Thriller girl this was SO PERFECT.

I DEVOURED this. Thriller, horror elements, culty, DARK as all hell, and the forbidden romance. *Chefs kiss*. This is definitely in the favorite books/series of all time for me. It made me gasp, laugh, and kick my feet in fits of blushing.
I loved the badassery, the vigilante revenge, the plotting... ughh so good. The tech guy. The FBI. Think criminal minds, but with smut, morally gray characters, and very not okay things that get swept under the rug; but like we're all okay with it.
The best part, is this bad b*tch was doing it right under his nose the entire time... Heheheehe ;)
One gripe... I swear... I wish the smut/romance was as explicit as the details of her eviscerating accounts. As a fan of body horror, I loved the detail in her vigi antics, but I begged for the same recounting of their romantic endeavors and never got it...
My TOP gripe... I hated the character progression of the FBI love interest. SPOILERS... This man really gives up his ENTIRE moral compass for this chick? REALLY?! His psychological training? His FBI training? I could have REALLY done without the ending. Put a sour taste in my mouth and I was not a fan of his idea of an anniversary "gift". Like I get it... morally gray... but that was some of the most unrealistic sh*t I've ever consumed and it pissed me right the f*ck off.
Did I love this series anyway? Yes. Am I a sucker for the HEA? Yes.... But like.... c'mon....

Possibly my favourite read of this year—or a definite contender at least. Her past and present were weaved in so well, and only added to the substance behind the plot. I found the romance didn’t take away from the plot (quite the opposite really), and really enjoyed the suspense and dance between the more thrilling aspects of the plot and the romance.
It does deal with some heavy topics (child abuse, rape, physical abuse, murder, etc.), but I found these to be tackled well and only served to add weight and depth to the characters and the choices they made.
