wow , what a rollercoaster of events šŸ«Ø

plot line: If she isn't mine in the end, I'll still be hers.
It's torture, but it's true...

For years, I've dreamt of what college life could bring and while some things changed, there was always one constant.

It didn't matter how wild I allowed my imagination to run, my future was clear, and he was it.

Until suddenly, he wasn't.

Now there's a new man in my life, one who isn't afraid to go after what he wants, and what he wants... is me.

They say first loves last forever... I hope they're wrong.

my thoughts:
honestly, I felt as though I should have created an ā€œinvestigation boardā€ to keep on track with this books plot and characters because it was A LOT to handle.

*March book club pick for Forever Reading Romance*

if like love triangles , sport and teen/young love romance books - I think that you may really enjoy this!

as a romance reader that rarely reads these tropes,  I was really hoping that I found a book that I could re-read and recommend to others - unfortunately this wasnā€™t the case.

donā€™t get me wrong , parts of this book was enjoyable but I felt as though there were quite a few let downs such as:
ā€¢ the choice of dialogue / writing
ā€¢ the events that took place within the plot (with no trigger warnings)
ā€¢ the amount of characters and the length of the book

I think if there had been some more adjustments to the characters and plot before the release of this book I may of enjoyed it a lot more

what I will say though isā€¦ NOAH RILEY šŸ„ŗšŸ˜ he is the epitome of a book boyfriend and I know other readers will agree - so if you need a reason to read this book , let it be him.

overall , this was a long yet bittersweet book that I wish I had enjoyed a lot more.

Overall: This book was a true rollercoaster. One moment I couldnā€™t stop reading, the other I was ready to DNF. My emotions were on the same rollercoaster. My heart dropped more than a couple of times because of Noah's sweet, honest, heartbreaking and healing words. To say I love him is an understatement. I did feel a lot of frustration towards some of the side characters and rolled my eyes more than once during this read.

Reasons to bump this up your TBR: If youā€™re searching for an angsty, sport, college romance this is a number one choice. Although you could easily mark this as a love triangle story, itā€™s not your typical one and there is no hint of (mind-)cheating. Itā€™s an honest, heartbreaking story of letting go, heartbreak and trusting yourself.

Noah is a reason to read this book. Heā€™s a multi-layered character facing his battles. Heā€™s a true gentleman, smart, soft and takes care of Ari in ways she doesnā€™t even realize she needs. To be honest heā€™s the reason I didnā€™t stop reading. I do wish I couldā€™ve read more from his point of view.

Reasons to bump this down your TBR: 500+ pages feels like too much for this story. In the last 30%, something crucial happened and I was not too fond of it. I felt too invested to stop reading though, but I wouldā€™ve stopped if it werenā€™t for Noah.

I had a big issue with Ariā€™s best friend. I couldnā€™t handle the way she spoke to Ari. It felt very young adult, badass wannabe even. I cringed a couple of times and the same goes for Brady. Luckily heā€™s more in the background in the plot.

Tropes:
Sport romance
Love triangle
Slow burn
Dual pov
Brotherā€™s friend

Content warning:
Loss of a parent
Loss of a child
Alcohol abuse
Grief

4āļø  5šŸ©· on T-Swift literary ranking...

American glory faded before me
Now I'm feeling hopeless, ripped up my prom dress
Running through rose thorns, I saw the scoreboard
And ran for my life....

Granted, I'm not a romance novel girl. I was curious as the premise sounded a lot like a Taylor Swift song. And it didn't disappoint.

It's you and me, that's my whole world
They whisper in the hallway, "She's a bad, bad girl" (okay)
The whole school is rolling fake dice
You play stupid games, you win stupid prizes

It should be 5 stars, buuuut the crew from the beach house kept messing with my head and confused me. And the happenstance of normal life was too long for me at times to enjoy it. But then, contemporary romance is not really my thing.

It's you and me, there's nothing like this
Miss Americana and The Heartbreak Prince (okay)
We're so sad, we paint the town blue
Voted most likely to run away with you

Overall, it's a sweet story, entertaining, and recommendable.

Very Miss Americana & the Heartbreak Prince

Question for the author: are you a swiftie?

First off, let me start off by saying this book is a 5 āļø read! and what a journey this book was! This was my first book by Megan Brandy, and it didnā€™t disappoint not one bit. The book starts off so innocent and fun, a group of friends, more like family really, heading off to college together to start their adult lives. Theyā€™re all thick as thieves. The story focuses around Arianna, Ari for short, our FMC, and her journey of love and healing. This is told in such a beautifully tragic way. The author rips our hearts out. I stayed up till 2am silent sobbing next to my husband to finish this. I couldnā€™t put it down and needed to know how this story ended. I cannot emphasize this enough, it is SO BEAUTIFULLY WRITTEN.
Also, there is spice and I give this one 3 šŸŒ¶ļø
If youā€™re on the fence abt this one, just read it. Itā€™s amazing. Itā€™ll be one Iā€™m left thinking abt for a long time and telling all my book besties abt.

The beginning was really slow. The author put all the emotions and devastation in the last 25%. And the epilogue wasn't really necessary if you would ask me

Words cannot explain how good this book is. My emotions were all over the place and heartbreaking as it was in place how heartwarming it was in others that I could just scream into the nothingness. This beautiful story was long but god it just wasnā€™t long enough and I just wanted more and more.  Noah is not just a book boyfriend but a bloody husband. I wanna find a love like his and Ariannaā€™s. Honestly I believe with all my heart that this book is going to stay with me for the rest of my life, that is how powerful it was.

While I hated the tragedy that happen within the story my heart was broken and put back together in the moments after. I will forever refer this book to whoever wants to hear it. I wish I read this book sooner. Also to any guys in the universe, yeah my standards have again been increased so I have a feeling I might be single longer now. THANKS!

If I could rate it with more stars I absolutely would!

It was good!! I didnā€™t give it 5 stars because I donā€™t like books with sexual content. I usually skip those pages. Overall it was written so WELL!!! All the way till the end. The last half of the book had me on edge. Cried my eyes out too!!
