Why did they add the fanfic at the end?! The book genuinely could have been 50 pages shorter. The end was really dragged out and unnecessary, it kind of spoiled the book for me. First 1/2 - 4,25 stars. Second 1/2 - 3 stars

i am utterly obsessed with this book. it’s not quite the monster romance vibes i usually look for, since despite the shapeshifting and people eating shesheshen is quite human in every other aspect, but it had so much i didn’t know i need and really surprised me at every moment.
i love monster romance and women’s wrongs and this checks the boxes even if it was in unconventional ways.
i did get worried that there was absolutely no way this could have a HEA and when it did i nearly wept with relief. i loved it so much.

It was an ok read it wasn't exactly what I was looking for though. Loved the plus size/Ace rep. There's lots of sweet moments and a healing journey which were great. It was more of a gore story than a horror one which wasn't a big deal but there were things that i felt were missing to make it great. I wanted to love it but it was a bit on the disappointing side. Also wasn't a fan of the third person narration style for shesheshen.

There was a lot riding on this book for me, considering it was my first attempt at the romance genre, and I didn't exactly have high hopes whatsoever. That being said, I absolutely loved this book and now have a whole new genre to explore thanks to it. It was so unbelievably cute and definitely had me on my toes for several pages, and I could not have asked for a more perfect last line!
