Had some interesting points that were undercut by pointless retconning.

I loved listening to the first season of Limetown. It’s been 2 years or so with nothing and now we have this book and a new season, which I haven’t dived into yet.

This prequel novel neither enticed me or added nothing worth while to what the first season had going for it.

It’s not even interesting on its own.

Doesn't make a massive impact on the Limetown story and some elements just didn't make much sense given what we already know from the podcast.

Have you ever read a book that you just didn't see the ending coming? Limetown was that book for me. I started listening to the podcast then found out this book was coming out and decided to not listen to the podcast until I was done reading. I am glad I did. This Prequel to the podcast covers so much of Lia Haddoks life before she became a journalist. There are so many twists and turns in this book and maybe if I had listened to the podcasts I would see things coming but since I didn't I enjoyed those twists and turns.

Cote Smith does a good job of setting up his characters they are not always reliable which is good for a mystery. However, I really enjoyed the spunk of Lia, the loyalty she has for her family. Smith did a great job of setting up the scene for the story and the mystery behind Lia's Uncle Emile's disappearance even before Limetown. If you love the Podcast, you should read this book you won't regret it. If you haven't listened to the Podcast read this book then enjoy the rest of the mystery.

On an ordinary day, over three hundred people disappear from a research facility and town in Limetown, Tennessee. One of the people who disappeared without a trace was Lia Haddock's uncle Emilie. Lia is captivated by the mystery of the missing people, spending all of her time looking for both answers and Emilie. Her parents refuse to talk about Limetown and Emilie, leading Lia further into her search for answers. 'Limetown' is a prequel to the hit podcast by the same name and builds quite a bit of excitement for the new season coming sometime in 2018.
Full disclosure: I adore the podcast Limetown. It has great pacing, great narration, and keeps listeners hooked. I thought the prequel to the podcast was a neat addition and it was interesting to read about Emilie's journey and how Lia found out about the events at Limetown. I would highly recommend this novel to anyone who loves the podcast or even someone who is interested in the podcast or the mystery surrounding a research facility, missing people, and a secret that people refuse to talk about. Pick this one up!
Thanks to NetGalley and Simon & Schuster for letting me read this one early!

There's a lot in this book. At times it's a "can't put this down, must see what happens" book and other times it drags. I was told by a friend that listening to Season 2 of the podcast would be confusing if you didn't read the book so I read the book and today going to listen to season 2.

Lost a star because of the ending. I felt like I didn’t really know what happened or have a sense of there being a point to the whole thing. However this could very well be because it is a prequel to a podcast and if I had listened to the podcast first this may have been a perfect segue to that.
