A great enemies to lovers story. Whit has good reason to hate Summer. I can’t wait to read the rest of this series.

Things I wanted to say was very well written, but long and drawn out for me. My attention span just wasn’t in it.

I do love Whit and Summers story. Both damaged, dark, and perfect for each other.  I love how Summer brought even Whit to his knees when they all claimed he didn’t even have a heart. He was so in love with her, but fighting it the whole way. He was simply trying to figure hisself and his feelings out.

Summer went through a lot as a child, we barely get a glimpse into her backstory besides the main two things that defines her darkness. I wish we knew her more.

The spice was spicy 🥵 but it was weird reading sex about two teenagers in high school.  That didn’t spice anything for me.

Overall, this was a good read, but slow. Perhaps building us up for the series and laying the atmosphere.

I took off 1/2 a star for the time gap. Yes, I’m petty. Time gaps break my heart

DNF @ Chapter 6

Meh. Some parts were good enough, angsty and smutty. Others boring and uselessly stretched over many pages.

I did not like it, I read 238 pages for nothing because I do not feel a connection with the male protagonist and she seems too insipid to be considered the main character.
