I liked how original and creative all the ideas were and the ending a lot. I just felt like it meandered and wound around the stories and went too slowly for me to feel sucked into it. Also for some reason I think I like Neil gaimans writing when it’s targeted to younger audiences, the intense sex and violence stuff here felt out of place idk.

I finally read this book after being urged by my friend for forever! I have to say, I did enjoy it, though it's not in my top ten. I thought the best part about this book was the characters. They were all so intriguing and lively and colorful. I found myself caring intensely about what happened to Shadow in the first few chapters.

I think my sticking point with this book is that it seemed to drag in the middle. It was a lot of waiting... a lot of build up. Then, essentially, nothing happened. The last few chapters reeled me back in, though.
