Slow to start but really enjoyed the read in the end. I hope there is more in the series because I would love to see the characters develop.

I'm not a huge fan of historical literature anyway, but this one was just too fluffy/flowery for me. Way too descriptive of things that just doesnt seem relevant to progressing the narrative. The ending felt very rushed, it was like the author had a set limit of pages to fill... realised they had to finish to just rushed the ending to finish it off. I dont think I'll bother with this author again, and it has reaffirmed my dislike of historical.
