Long, but incredibly poignant, especially when you consider that it came from two men.
Enjoyed the story..huge cast of characters but I didn't get lost on who was who, the ending seemed a little anti-climatic, but overall a good read
¿La verdad? Me decepcionó.

I wrestled with the beast and victory is mine!
This was the first King novel I ever tried reading and I knew going in that this wouldn't be the best place to start my relationship with this author (thanks again to SFF180 for the warning review :-))
I was fascinated by the premise of this book but I can say for sure that it could have been edited down to about have of its length and still be a great story. I know that King likes lengthy descriptions and that he likes to introduce characters, whose input to the main plot is minor, but hell, it took me 10 months to finish this book!
I'd still say I will continue reading King, but I think I'll need some distance from his writing before I can start the next endeavor.
2.5 stars for my first King-read.

A little underwhelming, but a quick read. The first half of he book was excellent, loved the description and the breakdown of the Aurora epidemic. The second half until the end was a little disappointing. Typical ending and typical "moral of the story."
Stephen King books can be difficult to read sometimes - not because of the length of his work or even the subject matter - but for the brutal misogyny, racism, and/or homophobia that find their way into pretty much everything he writes. This isn't to say I think King himself holds these views; in fact, I know he doesn't because every character who has them gets punished. The upside of having to experience a character like Don Peters is the certainty that he'll be dead by the end of the book.
Other than that, this book was very enjoyable. There are a lot of great, flawed women and nuanced men. The men aren't all demons, although they do all suffer from toxic masculinity, and the women aren't all saints. I'm never bored reading a Stephen King book and the concept behind this one grabbed me immediately. I'm always impressed when a large cast of characters all have distinct, individual voices.
Now, Evie Black. I understood her purpose in the story and why she manipulated everyone, which made it even better when Clint manipulated her back. I don't agree with her "test." It's all well and good to test if the men can solve their problems without blindly shooting them to death - except that reaction wasn't blind. Evie told Frank he'd have to kill her to free the women. Frank following through with that is less an effect of toxic masculinity and more like a father doing exactly what he was told would save his child. This is like giving out an academic test, telling the students they can use their notes, and then failing them for cheating.
Despite that, Sleeping Beauties is going into my top 5 favorite King books. See you in a year, you speed demon.

I very much enjoyed the audio version of this book. The transition from author to author was seamless. The story was scary because it could be true, like most Stephen King books. This is one of my favorites
I don't think this book was for me, the build-up was far to slow and I don't think there was enough suspense to keep my interest. The characters were ok for the most part, however, I think another problem for me was just the sheer amount of side characters! Way too many people to keep track of and a lot of times I felt as if it was taking away from moving the plot forward.
One thing I've noticed in the Stephen King books I have read is that he tends to get swept away with tiny details, or details that don't really matter to the overall story. I think some people will appreciate this writing style, while others will think it is dragging on the story.
I listened to the audiobook and will say that I absolutely loved the narrator, and I think it was perfect for this story because of the amount of side characters.
