I wanted to read this but I knew I'd never do it so I bought the audio book. Figured I'd probably retain just as much, maybe more, from listening to it than I would reading it. I truly loved hearing all the very descriptive ways men died in battle. I laughed out loud listening to the descriptive language used to describe the characters. Overall, I'm glad I got thru it. I would definitely never been able to follow it if I'd have been reading it. I barely followed it listening to it. But I liked it and may even listen to it again someday.

Been reading this for over a year 😭. Rieu’s translation is not really for me. But of course, this is a fabulous story and the random swear words really cracked me up.
