A lot of plot, a Lot of sad, and a LOT of sex scenes.

Reading a Virgin River book is like catching up with a group of friends. It doesn't matter if I stop in between entries, or even in the middle of the book, I know I can go back to them, and hear everything that's new in the characters' lives. Also, listening to these audiobooks has become a part of my routine, and because of that I don't feel the need to know what's going to happen, I can just relax and enjoy.

The three main stories in this book were not particularly appealing to me. If they were separate books in other series I don't think I would have even considered reading them, but after seven books I'm totally invested in this town and its people.

I quite enjoyed the first couple Virgin River books, but as I've read on in the series they just don't work as well for me anymore. I think Robyn Carr just tries to put too much into them. I don't need 4 different relationship storylines stuffed into one book and some background updates on the old couples as well. There just isn't enough space in the book for that. I think I'd enjoy them more if she stuck with at most 2 relationship storylines per book.

This book was very good. It was pretty emotional as well since it features Rick and the fact that he was injured in Iraq. Now he has come home to Virgin River but he's messed up pretty badly. He doesn't want any help from the people who love him and things are complicated in Virgin River for him and for Liz, his girl. I like this series very much. I think Robyn has a talent when it comes to bare her characters souls. She actually builds strong and wonderful characters that go through a lot but come out stronger in the end. Her stories are so sweet, heartbreaking and wonderful. I can't wait to read more books about Virgin River. (I've loved so much Abby and Cameon - my god, they're lovely).

After reading the first two books in this series, I decided to jump ahead to see what happens with Dan. He was the character I found most interesting in both books. However, I've discovered that this book doesn't work as a standalone and doesn't exactly match the description. 2 other couples are the main focus of the book and I guess I've missed part of Dan's story by skipping books 3, 4, 5, & 6. I say this based on the history Dan provides when applying for a job. I was only interested in catching up with Rick & Liz and seeing what happens with Dan. But I'm not going to skip through 5 books (3-7) for that to happen. Therefore, I'll be discontinuing this series. There are just far too many characters to keep up with over 20 books.

Rick's story just about killed me. Loved reading about it even as I was crying for all he was going through. So glad we got to watch Cam and Abby go from being strangers to friends to family. Looking forward to see what becomes of Dan and Cheryl in the future.

So proud of how Liz has grown from a young girl into a very strong young woman. Loved watching her tell Rick off and make him work to get back in her good graces.

The more I read of this series the more I enjoy it more than the TV adaptation.

This is a little of a few couples and characters we have gotten to know.

A lot of people getting through tough situations and coming out better on the other side.

And as always Jack's live for this town shines (IMO that is one of the things missing from the show)

Even though we got updates I still craved more
