Probably my least favorite in the series! Still not a bad storyline, but there was no clear A, B, and C narrative. Everything felt cobbled together very loosely and then before I knew it the book was done.

I put this one off. I think I've read every other book in the series now. I wasn't sure I wanted to read about the teens, the mature couple, and the alcoholic/grower. But I had wanted to read more about Cam and Abby. I was wrong to wait. I truly care about all the couples and I'm glad I read it. I love this series, this town, and how Robyn Carr gets you to care about the couples.

This is supposed to be Rick's story but it is really only a tiny portion of it. It is more Dan's story. Not that it isn't good but just forewarned.

I was loving the Virgin River series but between this book and the one before it, I started losing interest wasn't compelled to continue the series.

Honestly, I agree with most every reviewer on here about this novel- which is rare. I didn't care about Walt and Muriel's relationship at all. Rick's pity party drove me up the wall and made me really dislike his character and lose interest in his struggle. Cheryl and Dan's relationship felt like padding to make the book longer, but I did enjoy seeing them together. The relationship at the forefront of the novel really drove it- Abby and Cameron. It was so good to see Cameron finally happy. It really feels like it's been a long time coming for him.
As usual, Carr has the sort of can't-put-it-down kind of writing, and delves us deeper into the lives of the couples in Virgin River. I love that everyone- including the original couple Jack and Mel- are still involved in the stories and you can see their relationships progress over the years. I've come this far, so I guess I'll just have to finish the series now ;)

I was really excited about Rick’s book, but I was sad at how it started. I knew he had to have a difficult road after going to war, but it felt a little too forced and “angry”.

The Dan Brady storyline surprised me, but I actually really like his character!

Thus far, this was my least favorite book in the Virgin River series. There were just too many relationships to follow and none were fully explored with any detail. It felt more like a run down of the town's gossip and less like experiencing a love story with the characters. There was Cameron and Abby, Walt and Muriel, Rick and Liz, Dan and Cheryl, and snippets of Jack and Mel, Brie, Paul and Vanessa, Shelby and Luke. I really wanted to like it, but I just couldn't get into it. The last 50 or so pages, I just skimmed through the text and read the last page.

I liked the storylines in this book. The very young and the very old. Also I really liked Ricky's storyline, the new vet who loses a leg.
