I read this because I love Project Runway and Tim Gunn is by far my favorite part of the show. He is always so classy. This book was delightful. Gunn offers anecdotes and advice all wrapped up in a tidy package with some humor and charm.

The writing is fairly poor, and this is more about the gossip and his own take on manners (sometimes spot on, sometimes less so). An entertaining read, nonetheless.

A great book that gives you advice and kicks you in the butt when you need it. It helped my self esteem, sense of humor, and perfectionism quite a bit.

I am really a fan of this book! Organized in to chapters that act as life lessons, this book is really an interesting look into the world of fashion and celebrity. Essentially, this is a collection of rambling stories that work together to highlight character traits we should work to posses or flaws we should strive to overcome. Though at times I suppose this book could feel like Tim is just airing his grievances, the stories are told in such a way that I found them insightful and amusing. This book really feels more like you are having a chat with a friend, or listening to the stories of a relative than that you are being lectured on manners. The book is a mixture of tales from Tim's personal and professional lives, and all are told with the right mixture of whit, charm, and disdain. I found this book to be a quick and enjoyable read, and I highly recommend it. However, if you are a fan of Project Runway, or any of Tim Gunn's other television endeavors, then this book is an absolute must read and should be placed on top of your reading pile.

This book had some interesting anecdotes about the fashion world and gave a glimpse into Tim Gunn's life, but overall it was common sense fluff. Be nice, don't have an ego, try your best at everything you do, etc.

One of the best new books of this year. Frankly I think everybody needs to read this book and soak it in. Tim's lessons and stories make this book very entertaining and well worth the money. I didn't agree with a couple of his ideas but that's what makes for a great book.

This wasn't a deep book, and I found myself agreeing with lots of his thoughts about how people should behave in general (pretty much everywhere he implied something about treating others as well as possible and not expecting that the world owes us anything). It was a fun read.

Welll, I do love me some Tim Gunn, but I felt like the title should have been something more like "Gunn's Golden Rules: How I Met a Bunch of Assholes and Felt Superior to Them".

Lots of amusing Martha Stewart stories, though!
