The closer we get to modern time, the weaker the overall grasp of the books becomes. The thrill of the first book was the clever interweaving of real history with the alien story. By this last novel, this is has basically become just another interesting scifi novel about some secret aliens on earth. It is still quite enjoyable but the furious sense of discovery from the first book is almost entirely gone. Good series, but didn't live up to the incredible way it started.

Why is this so bad 😠I LOVED the first two and this was such an unsatisfying ending to the trilogy. So boring. And don't get me started on Aster's POV. I hated it. I hated the language so much. It was so clunky and distanced. I'm so disappointed.

A not good finale to a not good series. I liked the initial premise but that was all I liked.

This was a good conclusion to Sylvain Neuvel’s newest trilogy, and like the other books, was a fun and twisty ride. I really enjoy Neuvel’s science fiction, and I love that the audiobook (like the others) had a full cast narration. It really helps to feel immersed in the story. I would definitely recommend this one to sci-fi fans, and I highly recommend listening to the audiobook.
