If you could put all highschool summer vibes into one book, this would be it, I'm constantly rereading it and I love the characters so much. There's definitely sad scenes especially for fellow members of the LGBTQIA+ Community, showcasing our struggle finally feel yourself. But this found family, lighthearted book always fills me with warmth and 7 year old giddyness. Definitely going to pick up Robbie Couches other work.

I finished this book in under 6 hours, so I must have really liked it.
It was pretty clear from the beginning that this would be a predictable story, and I was right. But what surprised me the most was how there was no drama at all. So much potential for drama, but it was all resolved very quickly and in a wholesome way. That was really refreshing to all the angst and misunderstandings and miscommunication there usually are in these kinds of stories.
Don't get me wrong, this book deals with some sad and important issues, but it just chooses to concentrate on the positive things. I absolutely loved the friendship and found family aspect of this. And I was surprised by all the emotions I felt at several points which I was not prepared for.
This is just a fun, wholesome, queer read. Real life is much harder, I know, but I loved to imagine how everything could be better if people were just nicer to each other.
I enjoyed the writing style, though it might not be for everyone with all the pop culture references. And I do have an issue with some problematic stalker behavior at the beginning.
