We met Scottie (Gabriel Scott) in Idol. He's the buttoned-up, kinda scary but oh-so-hot manager of Kill John. Everything always has to be done his way and he does always get his way. Until he boards the plane to London and finds that there is this "chatty girl" on the seat beside his - a seat he paid for so that he would surely be alone for the flight. The flight if full, nothing can be done and he sees himself attached to the hip basically to Sophie Darling, who apparently can't shut up. Flying is his personal nightmare and it has just become exponentially worse. What he didn't count on was that Sophie Darling would be the perfect partner... not only for this flight, but for his life...
I absolutely LOVED this one! Scottie is so grumpy and so buttoned-up and when he completely relaxes around Sophie it's so so sweet! He clearly suffers from anxiety and Sophie is his safe place and it's swoony.
There are the obvious conflicts (one major wrench is thrown when we finally find out that Sophie has a convoluted connection to the band, but it is resolved in a surprising way) and there is the common miscommunication problem, but it just makes the story more exciting.
Sophie and Gabriel (yes, she calls him that to everyone's shock and surprise) are a new favorite couple! The banter is amazing  as Sophie doesn't take any crap from Scottie!
Narration: new narrators to me, but I loved them! It must have been particularly hard to narrate this one because they have to switch back and forth to American and British accents all the time. Charlotte even throws in a southern accent for Libby, which I missed in book 1. Well done!
This is book 2 but it can definitely read as a standalone.
Possible triggers: the hero suffers from anxiety and severe insomnia. He deals with it sometimes by engaging and illegal fights, so expect a little violence mentioned. Mentions of a suicide attempt and its repercussions. Mentions of alcoholism.

I loved this book from start to finish! Gabriel and Sophie had some of the best chemistry and banter I've read in a very long time. They needled and pushed, but also were so tender and sweet to each other. The book starts with quite the snuggly meet disaster/cute and every moment builds and builds in this delicious slow burn romance. Gabriel is the quintessential stern brunch daddy and Sophie was the perfect match for him. I liked that even though this is a rockstar romance series, it didn't feel like one since Gabriel is the band's manager. Fans of tropes like grumpy + sunshine, forced proximity, and friends to lovers will adore this one. Multiple friends recommended Managed to me and it did not disappoint! Sunshine and Chatty Girl for the win!

CW: childhood bullying, death of parent (brief mention of implied suicide due to terminal illness diagnosis), grief, mentions and discussion of suicide attempt (secondary character), fighting/violence, aerophobia, insomnia

Had a break down. Thought I'd re-read this one. Realized Gabriel was such an ass at some points, but loved it just the same the second time around.

Words are short to describe Sunshine and his Chatty Girl and re reading them for some nth time, still give me same feeling as first time.
