Writer’s intent or not, one can’t come out of this read in the current year as anything if not an abolitionist.

A little slow start, but picked up towards the middle. This book shows the scary fact that you can be convicted of anything and sometimes innocence is hard to prove. Just being a little different, having a problem, or rubbing someone the wrong way can be a death sentence. It showed the corruptibility of our legal system…scary thing is that our system one of the better ones in the current world. It also shinned a dim light the mental health system, which can use some major reform. This was a very well written and enlightening true story.

This was interesting b/c it was a true story. And I couldn't believe the lengths the cops went to to arrest the wrong men. But I didn't like the writing.

Very well researched. Wanted to read this nonfiction work by Grisham. Infuriating story but eye opening.

Very well written, difficult story that is indicicative of the justice system. It's definitely a book that will not make you happy, but sometimes facts aren't happy.

When I picked this book up I didn't realise it was a true story. I enjoyed it, but didn't think it needed to be as long as it was - there seemed to be a fair bit of unnecessary detail.
