It’s been a while since I started a series with just one book, but I’ve already looked up when the next one will be out. It was an interesting concept, and I’m usually a bit picky with fantasy novels. Once it got going, I devoured it. I loved the characters and the magic and the world building.

The overall pacing and world building was good but it didn’t really grab my attention. I feel completely indifferent about reading the next installment.

very enjoyable read! I finished this in two days which surprised me because I’ve never been a fast reader especially when it comes to fantasy. It usually takes me about two weeks to a month to finish a book. However this book was very addictive and easy to digest (in my opinion) so I was eager to get through every chapter. I’m only giving it four out of five because there were some parts that irked me in the middle chapters. The side characters could’ve been better crafted too but in the end I still liked it and I’m excited to get my hands on the sequel.

What a horribly cruel cliffhanger ending!!!

I recommend waiting until the series is complete tbh.

The magic system is fascinating & the lore is intriguing. It’s like a dark and twisted fairytale full of riddles & rhymes. An epic quest full of shock & horror and a sprinkle of slow-burn romance.

It’s not FTB but the spice is mild.

Idk if this is categorized as a romance, but unless there’s an HEA- I might trash it in my fury & rage! I am REELING after that ending!! Toddler tantrum level 3000!!!

Caveat emptor. Buyer beware.
