Great way to tell the story in an entertaining way. Drawings are beautiful.

I have not read the work upon which this is based, but I had high hopes for this version after reading some of the glowing reviews. I love graphic novels, and I was intrigued to see how the history of our species might be presented in that format. I was disappointed to find much of the content was actually focused on the author - at a conference, out with friends at a restaurant, explaining things to a young child, at another conference, etc. There are some thought-provoking concepts, to be sure. The content is presented at about a middle school level, which is fine, but I honestly was bored through much of this book.

I really enjoyed the beginning but then toward the end it started to feel too repetitive and I didn’t really care about the information
