This has been on my tbr for a while and I’m so glad I listened to Paris read her memoir to me herself, it was much more impactful that way. I love her voice, her real one that is. This book takes you through her childhood, her years of bouncing around homes and schools, forced institutionalization at troubled teen camps and jail time when she got a DUI, up until she met her current husband. So many people failed her in life and it’s truly only herself and her work ethic that saved her. I hope she’s happy, she deserves peace after all she’s been through. I know she’s forgiven a lot of the people who wronged her, but I haven’t. Ricky when I catch you Ricky👊🏼👊🏼 please look up specific trigger warnings, as there are a LOT of them. This was a hard listen, but ultimately it’s HEA, and that’s what kept me going, knowing that she got out. I think this is one of the only celeb memoirs I would reread. You’ll enjoy if you’re a fan of 2000s pop culture or if you have an ADHD brain, since the way she tells the story is pretty fast-paced and jumps around topics.

This book is beautifully written and the topics are so important. And I am not in a space to process the triggers included in this book right now. Paris is an amazing writer, and she has endured unimaginable horrors. I have to take care of myself, though, and I cannot stomach all she has been through.

I’m usually not the non-fiction type so I’m not sure how to write a review for it but this was written so well.

I loved how she told her story and sometimes trailed off onto something else before bringing the topic back, it felt authentic and while topics in the book were far from pleasant to read the way she wrote it made my ADHD brain keep up much easier.

She has been through so much, and whether you choose to believe her story or not she deserved better.  Everyone failed her so many times and it was not something anyone should have been put through.

This memoir was horrifying, depressing, heartbreaking, and at some point hilarious, like how she mentions how to make a Waldorf salad—which felt so relatable, how I try and tell someone how to make something all the while having never measured anything and just having gone with the flow of the “recipe”.  This book was real and genuine, it had its ups and downs; and I’m honestly so amazed by how strong she is having overcome so much trauma.

This was an interesting memoir. I wasn’t a legit fan of Paris before reading but I watched The Simple Life and always liked her. I think her fans will appreciate it even more than I did. It’s really harrowing what she went through and important she shared her experience. The voice takes some getting used to - she talks about having ADHD and you really follow the ADHD train of thought throughout the book, which… I get it, same. I listened to the audiobook and really enjoyed it.

I went into this knowing next to nothing about Paris Hilton and I was more invested than I thought

I barely have words for the horrors in this woman’s life. It was, quite frankly, extremely difficult to keep listening to her talk about it. I had to take a lot of breaks and I cried a lot. This will stay with me for a very long time. Please,  please, please check the content warnings.
