Paris: The Memoir bonus chapter by Paris Hilton

This book is hard to read. Not because it’s written by Paris Hilton (and her ghostwriter) and not for the reasons that people would assume - that it would be vapid and boring and self serving - because this book is none of those things. This book is a hard read because Paris doesn’t spare the details of the horrors she’s endured, especially as a young adult in the “troubled youth” programs.

This book was absolutely captivating, emotionally raw, stunningly well written, and had me near tears at points.

You can decide for yourself if you think her book is genuine or a cleverly crafted PR piece, but one thing is for sure, this is a book that all young girls/femmes - teens and early twenties - should have access to. This book can open up a world for them to know that they are not alone, many of their experiences from small to big and light to dark are normal and that they are not the ones to blame. This is a book many teen and young adult girls/femmes (and even many others in the queer community) can relate to, learn from, and see themselves in.

I definitely think I wouldn’t have enjoyed the book as much if I eyeball read this book.  Paris added so much emotion to the audiobook so that, even during the dark parts, I could keep going.

I remember growing up at the same time as Paris.  She’s only a few years older than me and I definitely othered her.  I am so sorry because this woman has gone through so much, money or not.

This book is such a beautiful look at ptsd, finding joy, and living with ADHD.

Fame is a trauma (on top of so many other traumas), and Paris Hilton is an icon 💟

This memoire covers the cruel vile experiences Paris endured in her teenage years and her battle to overcome the trauma and damage that resulted from them.
I found it to be moving and frank with a dash of wit and just enough of the glitz and charm we know her for.
Brave, challenging, thought provoking.

Raw, beautiful and essential reading for all millennials. What a life. Absolutely broke my heart in places and also reflect on growing up at this time as a girl with undiagnosed ADHD and how the world saw women. Paris has a genuinely inspiring attitude to her mistakes, being mistreated and sexualised by the media, her SA and the extreme trauma for her time in teen correctional institutions. Her audio performance and her messages made me feel she was talking to me. She clearly is grateful for her fans and privileges and is in a time of her life to make others feel seen, heard and loved. This book it's hot.
