It’s hard for me to rate memoirs because these people are talking about their lives and trauma in a medium that both functions as therapy and is incredibly critical. That being said, I really liked Paris: The Memoir. I’ve always had a fascination (read: mild obsession) with Paris Hilton  and I was just excited to hear her talk about her life in her own words, especially after how much I enjoyed her 2020 documentary. Obviously, the troubled teen stuff is awful to read, but I have to say Paris (or her editor) has a good sense of pacing and would often break up heart wrenching memories with something funny or charming from present-day that made the trauma a bit more readable. I started reading memoirs exclusively by audiobook and this one is no different, I highly recommend listening to it. I did find myself getting a bit distracted in part 3 when we started listing outfits, but on the whole I appreciate what Paris was doing and I think the book is worth your time.

When reading this book really make sure to check the content warnings, it's a really good book but Paris Hilton has gone through a lot of awful things that she's opening up about

With all memoirs, there are biases and slants to convey an individual either in a more positive or negative light. Paris had these but overall she told her story without over-justifying or explaining. Her story was honest, unapologetic, humorous, and reflective. I admired her acknowledgment of her privilege and  understanding that because of it, her voice in advocating for change resonates louder. And that’s hot.
