It's about two sisters who come together to uncover what happened to their mother, who disappeared a long time ago. Once I started reading, I couldn't stop. I enjoy mysteries, and this book had a great puzzle that kept me engaged. The story was smooth and the characters were likable. I can't wait to read more books by Anni.

I think this story was very slow to get started but ended up as a great mystery. A few things were pretty predictable, but many of the twists and reveals were good and made a lot of sense. I don’t know that all of the father’s abuse of the mother was necessary. I think there are other ways the author could have kept the story going and got to the same end result without there being so much explicit abuse described. I would probably read more from this author, which is something I don’t say often.
