Quick and fun book with cute romance.Even though this book felt short in some ways it still makes me want to read more from the author.

I was able to snag The Bombshell Effect on audio and it was great. Both narrators were really good and I really enjoyed the story. Luke and Allie were adorable and I loved how sweet their story unfolded. With a perfect HEA, this was a great, quick listen.

Faith is still dealing with the death of her father when she gets another surprise. He left the entire Washington Wolves football team to her. How was she supposed to take over his pride and joy when she had no clue how to. Luke kept his circle small and made sure to show up for his daughter. As the quarterback for the Wolves he has dealt with a lot of unwanted attention over the years and he just wants to keep his daughter safe from it all. Except he soon learns his grumpy attitude towards his new neighbor was a little unwarranted, especially once he finds out she’s the new owner of the team. Grumpy single dad, determined independent Allie must find a way to get over their terrible first impression.

⭐⭐⭐ It was okay, ignoring the issues for a fun read (average not a standout)

Allie has had a wild week, her father died, she inherited a NFL team and while trying to be friendly with her new neighbours she accidental shoves cupcakes into Luke Pierson's chest. Luke, a tall, broody tattooed man, has a young daughter and is not interested in speaking to his pretty girl neighbour. Luke however is the star quarterback of the team Allie inherits and now they need to try and easy the tension even though they can not stand to be around each other. Evening hate turns to lust which turns to big love.

I enjoyed this book but it just wasn't a standout because I didn't love their connection. This has so many emotions and steam and the characters really take their time getting friendly but their sexual tension jumps of the page. I loved seeing Allie break the stereotype of her appearance and really connect with Luke's daughter in such a sweet way. Luke is so freaking grumpy so I think he just let me down at times. He really did become a sweet family man once he gets a swift kick.

Tropes: single dad, workplace romance, sports romance (NFL)
Triggers: loss of a parent, slut shaming

for me

This book was okay. I wasn’t a fan of the ending like how it just straight went into a plug for her next book. She didn’t get to see if they win or anything like that. Not a fan of that I like a complete ending. Also the single dad part wasn’t a big part of the book in my opinion. Like the little girl wasn’t mentioned much. Like most books since their a single dad the little girl is talked about a lot and we see more of a connected with the MC. To me there wasn’t a lot of this. In the beginning there was a little bit but mostly it was barely there. We never got to see a conversation where the guy asked her if it was okay that he got with someone like they normally do. Like it was lowkey easy to forget he got a kid. Beyond that I liked how in the beginning at least she was badass. I wish we got more of that and the romance didn’t take over the entire book. I think it needed more balance. But it was good I liked the dual pov. Overall it was average. 3/5
